If you’re in the UK as an international student or you’re planning to go to the UK to study then the post is for you in fact whether you’re a student in the UK or you have someone studying in the UK, you need to read it and share to your friends .
The first update is that students can now work more than 20 hours a week provided that you’re working with the NHS (National Health Service) trust and you’re working within any of the professions I’ll be listing. Whether the school is in section or not, you have no restriction . You can work as long as you want to work in the UK. so if you’re working in the NHS as a
- Biochemist
- Biological scientist
- Dental practitioner
- Health professional
- Medical practitioner
- Medical radiographer
- Midwife nurse
- Occupational therapist
- Paramedic
- Pharmacist
- Ophthalmologist
- Physiotherapist
- Psychologist
- Podiatry
- Social worker
- Speech and language therapists
- Therapy professional
if you’re working within this occupation I just listed and you’re working in the NHS then you can work more than 20 hours in the UK
The second update is that normally students are expected to undertake their studies in the UK to be able to qualify for the post study work visa right? but now the update is that even if you’re studying outside the UK so long as your course is in the UK then you can apply for the post study work visa. so what this simply means is that if you’re outside the UK from overseas taking up any course in any of the UK universities whether it’s an online course, distance learning programme or blended learning so long as you’re taking up a course in the UK university then you are eligible to apply for the post study work visa also known as a graduate visa.
So what are the requirements for you to qualify for the graduate route / post study visa? You have to have successfully completed an eligible course. Obviously it’s not every course you study in the UK that qualifies for the graduate route so that is one requirement okay.
The second requirement is that you need to have existing permission (from your school in the UK) for that course at the point of the application for the graduate route. What this means is that your school should permit you to finish the course on campus.
The third requirement is that you need to be in the UK to be able to apply for the graduate’s route visa.
And lastly, students who commence a course of 12 months or less in September 2021 or March 2022 via distance learning from overseas must enter the UK no later than 30th June 2022, formerly it was ( 6 April 2022 ) and complete that course of study in the UK with permission as a student to be eligible for the Graduate Route.
This is good news that means if you’re studying in the UK and even if your course is less than 12 months you still qualify for the graduate route just that you need to actually move to the UK before 30th June of 2022 to be able to be eligible to apply for the graduate route.
