A cutting-edge fitness centre, a specialized strength and conditioning room, two 3G five-a-side football fields, two indoor arenas, and dance and aerobic studios are just a few of the amenities available at the Docklands campus. During the 2012 London Olympics, Team USA utilized UEL’s Docklands facility as one of its High Performance Training Centres. Gemma Gibbons, a graduate of UEL, won silver in the under 78kg category, giving Great Britain its first judo medal in 12 years.

FACILITIES

The university’s teaching is split between its two campuses in Stratford and Docklands. In 2013, a new campus called University Square Stratford (USS), a joint venture between UEL and Birkbeck (University of London), will open. This campus will house the School of Law and Social Sciences, the Institute of Performing Arts and Dance, and MBA programs.

TRANSPORT

Once in London, there are many options for transportation.

Bus: The closest bus stops are a short stroll from both campuses. Several local bus routes provide excellent service to the area.

Docklands Light Railway and the Tube (DLR): The Stratford campus is within a short distance from Stratford station, which provides connections to the over ground, underground, and DLR. The Docklands campus is located directly across from the Cyprus DLR station.

Train: According to the TFL website, there are eight main train stations in central London. Check National Rail’s Inquiry page for particular information on inbound trips to London, including costs and schedules.
